Heat is dangerous for dogs
- Dog
Dogs cool down mainly by panting, so heat is harder on them than on us. On hot days, move walks to the morning and evening, bring water along and choose shade and grass over asphalt.
Test the asphalt with your palm: if it feels too hot to you within five seconds, it will burn your dog’s paw pads. Never leave a dog in the car, even “for just a minute”: the inside heats up to dangerous temperatures within minutes.
